April 05, 2004 - The Chronicles of Riddick, perhaps one of the few games that might be as good, or perhaps even better than its namesake. At least that's our very first impression of the game, designed by Swedish game developer, Starbreeze AB.

    Having worked on the PC game Enclave and currenly in development with Knights of the Temple, Starbreeze AB might be one of those unknown European teams, but not after this game. Everything from the character models, backgrounds and in-game action are impressive.

    In the videogame adventures of Riddick, which not coincidentally happen to star Pitch Black's Vin Diesel, players have the chance to play the brutal, twisted killer in a prequel to the eponymous movie. They must guide the anti-hero's escape from the maximum security prison facility referenced in the film, while also experiencing the story behind Riddick's night-seeing eyes. The Chronicles of Riddick is a pure sci-fi sory with big guns, scary monsters, and high technology.

    This premiere movie trailer, complete with a heap of in-engine gameplay action -- will hopefully be just what you need to be convinced of its potential. We'll have more on VU Games' killer FPS in the near future.
