Spoilers from 'The Chronicles of Riddick'

Information i've put together from articles and sources online.  I'll keep adding to this as things are revealed.

The book starts out familiarizing the reader with Necroism (the faith of Lord Marshal's followers). We find out that there have been OTHER Lord Marshals in the past, and their goal is to reach the 'Threshold' to reign in the underverse. Then, we have a couple of pages about the prison on Crematoria. Deep in this underground prison we find that Jack/Kyra has been taken prisoner and this is her new *home*. They call her 'Big Foe'.

Next we're on an icy planet with two mercs searching for someone. Interestingly enough, one of these mercs is named Johns (don't think it's any relation to Johns from PB). The script pages that are on PitcherBlacker of this scene is almost exactly how it plays out in the book. Of course they are after Riddick. After Riddick knocks these two off, he comes face to face with merc TOOMBS. He gets away, steals the merc ship, has the dream/vision of the female furyan. He heads to Helion Prime to find Imam since he is the only one who Riddick told where he'd be.

We meet Imam's family -- his wife, and 5 year old daughter, Ziza. Riddick makes the remark when he see's Imam's wife/family: "It's been a long time since 'beautiful' entered my brain." Then he meets with Areon, finds out about the Necromongers and Lord Marshal. Soon after, Lord Marshal takes over Helion Prime. Imam is killed trying to draw attention away from his family as the necromongers search them out. Now we have the part where Riddick first meets Lord Marshal, Vaako, Dame Vaako, and an interesting probe of Riddick's mind with the 'Quasi-dead'. They are the one's who say: Wondering...wondering about us...realizing now that we're in his mind. Beginning to fathom the Dark Thought. Trying to shut us out, shut down the here-and-now. Resisting -- anything to resist. But vainly, so vainly. Cannot think not to think without thinking about it. The inevitable conundrum. It will fade and fail, as they all do.

Toombs comes back into the picture and captures Riddick just as he's making for the hidden merc ship to leave the planet. Toombs now has some new mercs working with him, one, a female named Logan. They take Riddick to the underground prison on Crematoria. Riddick meets up with Kyra here and she is PISSED at Riddick big time. Riddick left her on New Mecca with Imam and took off since Mercs were after him. Jack/Kyra went after him, ended up being a slave, then joined up with a merc team to hunt Riddick down for the bounty on his head. The mercs double crossed her and she ended up in prison on Crematoria. As far as the book goes, Riddick/Kyra have no sexually hinted dialogue or scenes (thank goodness). They place Kyra as 17, and it's mentioned that the prophecy about 'one who will kill the leader' is 30 years old. I'm assuming that's possibly Riddick's age? (Don't know if they factored in cryo-sleep). Just guessing since that prophecy is about Riddick.

There's a lot of stuff that goes on in the underground prison on crematoria -- even a scene where Riddy takes a bath in the thermal heated creeks that run through the prison. AHEM! Anyway...this is where 'Death by teacup' happens. I didn't take it as an actual purty little teacup, but a crudely fashioned metal cup that he ended up calling a teacup because the prisoners drank a funky homemade tea from them. Also, if anyone remembers the short little animation on the official PB site, the one that showed Riddick's escape from a slam with Johns soon on his tail, there was a scene where Riddy came upon a guard dog. He notices the gashes/scars on the dog's nose, pets him and says something like, "Yeah, I know how that feels." Well, there is a scene almost exactly like this in the book where Riddy befriends one of the horrific canine-like aliens that are let loose in the prison. One thing leads to another and Riddy, Kyra, the Guv (Leader of the imprisoned convicts) and a few others make plans to escape, take the merc ship, and leave the planet. Fights ensue, blood spills and bones smash as the group fights their adversaries to free themselves, and the whole time trying to outrun the rising, bar-b-que you in a millisecond sun. Just as we think Toombs is going to ghost Riddick, his new alien canine friend kills Toombs.

They're off again only to find that Vaako and his necromongers
have landed on crematoria to search for Riddick. More fighting, Vaako almost takes Riddick out -- and Vaako thinks he's killed him, so he leaves him to let the sunrise toast him. This is when the Purifier (he is Lord Marshal's priest or right hand man) saves Riddick from the rising sun. He knows that Riddick is not just a furyan, but an alpha furyan and he tells Riddick this. The Purifier tells Riddick that he is a furyan himself, but chose to follow Lord Marshal and become a necromonger. The Purifier then walks out into the burning sun to die.

Vaako has returned to Lord Marshal and reported that he's killed Riddick. Little does he know that Riddick has found his way back onto the Basilica. He confronts Lord Marshal and another fight ensues. Then, Kyra comes forward -- but she's not really Kyra anymore. She's become a necromonger, making that choice because she thought Riddick was dead and all was lost. More fighting with Lord Marshal and Riddick, and just as Riddick is ready to accept his death, Kyra stabs Lord Marshal and saves him, then Lord Marshal flings Kyra and she becomes impaled and dies. Vaako comes into the picture and, pushed by Dame Vaako, tries to kill Lord Marshal so he can become the next Lord. As the three are fighting, Riddick is able to kill Lord Marshal. Vaako is stunned, and Dame Vaako screams as she her plans crumble before her. Riddick looks sadly at Kyra, but realizes that she suffers no more pain, and physically and emotionally exhausted, he slumps onto the empty throne.

Now, the necromonger army looks to Riddick, "Your orders, Lord Marshal?" Riddick thinks a moment and tells them to head to the 'Threshold' (the place where Lord Marshal would reign). Riddick then tells the necromonger officer, "Don't call me Lord Marshal. My name is Riddick."
